We all heard about Typhoon Haiyan's ravage here in the Philippines and despite all that has happened, I am very thankful and very blessed my family and I are safe and sound (because our area was not directly affected by the super typhoon).

Typhoon Haiyan might have left the Philippines but the devastation it left behind will forever be etched in the minds of all Filipinos, especially those who were affected and lost their loved ones in the midst of this tragedy.

Everytime I watch the news, seeing the horrible experience the victims have to go through to get by, those who were affected begging for any help that can be given to them, and especially the families who lost their loved ones in the wake of this catastrophe, something inside me weeps for them.

The feeling of waking up knowing that the home you grew up on is now a pile of debris...
The feeling of waking up not knowing how to get through the rest of the day...
The feeling of waking up knowing that the people you shared your life with will no longer open their eyes...

:damphyr: THE VICTIMS NEED OUR HELP :damphyr:

Here is a link as to how you can extend your helping hand for the victims of Typhoon Haiyan:

But a simple prayer from the heart will be very helpful.

Thank you to all those who already found ways to help, especially to the other countries who gave their pledges to help the victims of the typhoon. If there is something positive about this situation, it's the fact that even though we speak different languages, we live far away from each other and have different outlooks in life, we can still be united to aid our brothers and sisters who badly need it.

THANK YOU!!!

Hi!

It's been ssssssoooooooooooo long since I updated anything in here. I haven't really been cosplaying much lately, just attending cons to buy toys. But me and my friends did a photoshoot/picnic last month and I think it's time to upload it here. It's in celebration of my birthday and I'm really happy my friends granted me my wish to have a picnic/shoot with them. But we weren't really cosplaying, we just wore our yukata (since all three of us have one), wore our wigs and took photos at Wildlife Park. We also held our picnic/shoot there a couple of years ago and I'm really looking forward to doing that again. I just wish we have better costumes by that time.

But the photos didn't really matter, what's important for me is that (although a bit late) I was able to celebrate my birthday with the people closest to my heart.

Anyway, I'll be uploading some photos soon from our photoshoot and other things. I hope my photography has gotten better, well, you'll be the judge of that.

Hello! Sorry if I wasn't able to update regularly, a lot is happening in my life now and I'm really grateful for all the blessings I've received. :floating:

:damphyr: COSPLAY MANIA 2012

My friends and I were really excited for that event, not only because it's the biggest cosplay convention in the country, but also because KANAME☆ was there :squee:. I think it was his first time in the Philippines and I just hope that he, Reika and all the international guests we had this year enjoyed their stay in the country.

I cosplayed Idike (again ), but this time I finally got the wig right. Wearing Idike's costume reminded me that I really need to lose weight, I had difficulty fitting it. I'm really looking forward to have a photoshoot with my friends in my Idike costume, I think it will be some time in November or December. Then I can finally keep my Idike costume locked in my cabinet.

:damphyr: I HAVE A NEW JOB!

I'm now working as an editor for a local magazine and I think I'm getting the hang of it. This is officially my first job (since I only lasted for half a month in my recent job). I'm working now as I am writing this journal entry hahaha :evillaugh:

I know appreciate fridays! :hooray:

:damphyr: WHAT'S NEXT?

Well, :iconcagalliyula02: and I are planning to cosplay together probably by December. I won't reveal our characters but I really really like the character I'm planning to cosplay.

And because of my new job, I was again introduced to Adobe Photoshop. I'm having a good time editing photos so I might spam you with photos these coming days. And of course, the photos that I took of KANAME☆ :happybounce:

:damphyr::damphyr::damphyr::damphyr::damphyr::damphyr::damphyr::damphyr::damphyr::damphyr::damphyr::damphyr::damphyr::damphyr::damphyr::damphyr::damphyr::damphyr::damphyr::damphyr::damphyr::damphyr::damphyr::damphyr::damphyr::damphyr::damphyr::damphyr::damphyr::damphyr::damphyr::damphyr::damphyr::damphyr::damphyr::damphyr::damphyr::damphyr::damphyr::damphyr::damphyr::damphyr::damphyr::damphyr::damphyr::damphyr::damphyr::damphyr::damphyr::damphyr::damphyr::damphyr:

Anyway, life has been so good to me recently and although there were some hardships along the way, I am still thankful. Waking up in the morning and knowing that I have another day to spend with my loved ones and do all the things I want is just one of the many blessings I receive everyday.

So, let me tell you a secret about life...

A little update

7 min read
 Hello!!!

It's been so long since I updated my journal. Everything's going fine with me and my family despite the recent calamity that happened here in Metro Manila, Philippines. The unexpected weather brought flood and it reached the first floor of our home :raincloud:

Sadly, the weather is still unexpected as the last few days and there's still flood water in the streets. :sadangel: We still haven't returned to our normal way of living but we're coping up just fine and hoping for the best.

We're planning on moving to a new home so we can avoid flooding.

 Please pray for the victims of the flood

I'm sorry I wasn't able to post much here. It's been a very long while since I last cosplayed. But I will attend this year's Cosplay Mania. It's the biggest cosplay convention here in the Philippines. I wasn't able to attend last year's Cosplay Mania because of my studies. It was such a big convention and sadly I missed seeing the international guests. Those were :iconjiakidarkness:, :iconyukigodbless: and :iconpinkyluxun:

But I won't definitely miss this year because one of the international guests is KANAME☆. :happybounce: I really like his cosplays and am looking forward to seeing him!!!

Anyway, have any of you already watched the movie Naruto: Road to Ninja? I really want to watch it. Did you download it? If so, please share with me the link. Please?

Thank you!

Thanks to all those who included my works to their favorites and especially those who subscribed to my deviant watch! I really appreciate it!!!

This year has been full of challenges for me, challenges that I accomplished with the help of my friends, family and of course God almighty :#1:. Those challenges were mostly school-affiliated. :work:

To sum up the challenges:

1. Did a Documentary about the fishermen and their families in the province of Balayan, Batangas here in the Philippines. (We even   get to meet and interview a fisherman who lost his right leg because of fishing and another fisherman who got lost and separated from his co-fishermen for a week).

2. Knew that I have allergic rhinitis and was sick for a week because of that  (the doctor said that I should throw away the cats in the house because it makes my condition worse… but who cares???) :meow:

3. Did a music video www.youtube.com/watch?v=qeD_Yf… :stereo:(and on my birthday too!!!)

4. Fulfilled the requirements in our acting class (which includes dubbing, acting in a scene caught on camera, writing and delivering             news).

5. Wrote a script for a short film :writersblock:

6. Passed my college degree thesis. :headbang:

7. Sacrificed my summer vacation to attend summer classes. :saddummy:

8. Accomplished my internship on a local radio station (93.9 iFM) and a local tabloid newspaper (Remate).

9. Did a full-length movie, of course with my friends. :film:

10. Got the chance to be a Production Assistant in one of the teleseryes of Net25. :film:

But of course there is much more that I didn't include but what matters is that all of those challenges made me a better person. Those challenges developed me in a way that I never thought I could be. I was always the shy girl who was afraid to express herself because she was afraid she might get rejected. :nuu:

But life taught me that sometimes rejection is good because it motivates you to try harder and prove to that person who rejected you that you are worthy and willing to do whatever it takes to achieve your dream. :headbang:

I remember when I was a sophomore high school student, I was asked by our math teacher if I want to participate in the upcoming math quiz bee. I was overwhelmed because I've never joined one of those :squee:. I accepted and since then I've been studying my notes in my free time. And I always pray to God for me to do well in that quiz bee. Then the day of the quiz bee came and I didn't even know how it happened but I got to be champion. Never have I thought that I would be champion. It just goes to show that if you work hard enough and pray to God, even the impossible will be possible. :happybounce:

The biggest factors in my self-development would probably be my best friends, cosplay and college life.

:damphyr:Best friends because they were there in times of despair, always make me smile and have good time and says to my face if I did something unpleasant. Some of your friends might stab you in the back but best friends stab you in front. It might be harsh but it is the reality.

:damphyr:Cosplay because it boosted my confidence in myself, developed my artistic side and taught me to be resourceful and thrifty. I have discovered cosplay way back 2006 when I attended a local convention. I was so happy in seeing my favourite anime characters in real life through cosplayers. So in 2007 I started cosplaying and it totally changed my lifestyle. And I also got to meet and developed friendship with fellow cosplayers locally and internationally.

:damphyr: And college life because there was SO many things that I accomplished that I didn't think I'll be able to. It introduced me to the field I'll be working on in a few years' time and equipped me with the right knowledge and skills to be competitive in the professional world.

But anyway, those were all part of the past which I won't be able to change no matter how hard I try. The present and future is what matters because in a few months' time I'll be graduating from college (hopefully) and will be entering the professional world. I'll have to face and defeat a lot of people if I want to have a decent job. In order to do that, I must first develop myself. I've come a long way from being just an average girl to where I am today but development in myself will make my life easier and will open lots of opportunities for me.

So here are some of my steps on self-development:

:bulletwhite: I will work with my confidence and convince myself that sharing my opinions with others won't harm anyone.
:bulletwhite: I won't be a lazy lump who just waits for opportunities.
:bulletwhite: I'll accept all the opportunities that come in my way. If I get rejected then it's God's way of saying that it's not for me.
:bulletwhite: I'll be more resourceful when it comes to cosplay hahaha…
:bulletwhite: I'll treasure my family and friends and let them know that I appreciate all they have done for me.
:bulletwhite: I'll accept all the challenges life will throw at me.
:bulletwhite: I'll be a good follower of God.

:floating: I am grateful for all the achievements and hardships I've experienced in my life. It just made my life more exciting and worthy of living for. I am proud of what I have become today. :floating:

Hope that I'll be of any help to those of you who got the chance to read this blog. Be happy with what you have and treasure your gifts because they are gifts from God.

:empllama: HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! :emplllama:
