This year has been full of challenges for me, challenges that I accomplished with the help of my friends, family and of course God almighty :#1:. Those challenges were mostly school-affiliated. :work:

To sum up the challenges:

1. Did a Documentary about the fishermen and their families in the province of Balayan, Batangas here in the Philippines. (We even   get to meet and interview a fisherman who lost his right leg because of fishing and another fisherman who got lost and separated from his co-fishermen for a week).

2. Knew that I have allergic rhinitis and was sick for a week because of that  (the doctor said that I should throw away the cats in the house because it makes my condition worse… but who cares???) :meow:

3. Did a music video www.youtube.com/watch?v=qeD_Yf… :stereo:(and on my birthday too!!!)

4. Fulfilled the requirements in our acting class (which includes dubbing, acting in a scene caught on camera, writing and delivering             news).

5. Wrote a script for a short film :writersblock:

6. Passed my college degree thesis. :headbang:

7. Sacrificed my summer vacation to attend summer classes. :saddummy:

8. Accomplished my internship on a local radio station (93.9 iFM) and a local tabloid newspaper (Remate).

9. Did a full-length movie, of course with my friends. :film:

10. Got the chance to be a Production Assistant in one of the teleseryes of Net25. :film:

But of course there is much more that I didn't include but what matters is that all of those challenges made me a better person. Those challenges developed me in a way that I never thought I could be. I was always the shy girl who was afraid to express herself because she was afraid she might get rejected. :nuu:

But life taught me that sometimes rejection is good because it motivates you to try harder and prove to that person who rejected you that you are worthy and willing to do whatever it takes to achieve your dream. :headbang:

I remember when I was a sophomore high school student, I was asked by our math teacher if I want to participate in the upcoming math quiz bee. I was overwhelmed because I've never joined one of those :squee:. I accepted and since then I've been studying my notes in my free time. And I always pray to God for me to do well in that quiz bee. Then the day of the quiz bee came and I didn't even know how it happened but I got to be champion. Never have I thought that I would be champion. It just goes to show that if you work hard enough and pray to God, even the impossible will be possible. :happybounce:

The biggest factors in my self-development would probably be my best friends, cosplay and college life.

:damphyr:Best friends because they were there in times of despair, always make me smile and have good time and says to my face if I did something unpleasant. Some of your friends might stab you in the back but best friends stab you in front. It might be harsh but it is the reality.

:damphyr:Cosplay because it boosted my confidence in myself, developed my artistic side and taught me to be resourceful and thrifty. I have discovered cosplay way back 2006 when I attended a local convention. I was so happy in seeing my favourite anime characters in real life through cosplayers. So in 2007 I started cosplaying and it totally changed my lifestyle. And I also got to meet and developed friendship with fellow cosplayers locally and internationally.

:damphyr: And college life because there was SO many things that I accomplished that I didn't think I'll be able to. It introduced me to the field I'll be working on in a few years' time and equipped me with the right knowledge and skills to be competitive in the professional world.

But anyway, those were all part of the past which I won't be able to change no matter how hard I try. The present and future is what matters because in a few months' time I'll be graduating from college (hopefully) and will be entering the professional world. I'll have to face and defeat a lot of people if I want to have a decent job. In order to do that, I must first develop myself. I've come a long way from being just an average girl to where I am today but development in myself will make my life easier and will open lots of opportunities for me.

So here are some of my steps on self-development:

:bulletwhite: I will work with my confidence and convince myself that sharing my opinions with others won't harm anyone.
:bulletwhite: I won't be a lazy lump who just waits for opportunities.
:bulletwhite: I'll accept all the opportunities that come in my way. If I get rejected then it's God's way of saying that it's not for me.
:bulletwhite: I'll be more resourceful when it comes to cosplay hahaha…
:bulletwhite: I'll treasure my family and friends and let them know that I appreciate all they have done for me.
:bulletwhite: I'll accept all the challenges life will throw at me.
:bulletwhite: I'll be a good follower of God.

:floating: I am grateful for all the achievements and hardships I've experienced in my life. It just made my life more exciting and worthy of living for. I am proud of what I have become today. :floating:

Hope that I'll be of any help to those of you who got the chance to read this blog. Be happy with what you have and treasure your gifts because they are gifts from God.

:empllama: HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! :emplllama:
